Mermaiden:
The Underwater Waltz
In ‘The Underwater Waltz’ (2024) you have reached a clearing at the bottom of the ocean where the mermaids entice you into a slow and fluid dance. As they swim gracefully around you, they sing sweetly, their layered voices weaving their enchantment.
Song of the Sirens
Inspired by folk songs of the past, the ‘Song of the Sirens’ (2024) reveals the mermaiden’s true colours. Not so kind and angelic, these creatures of the deep have much darker intentions that hold little hope for anyone who dares to cross their path.
Opening the Mermaiden Suite ‘Aquoreal’ (2023), surrounds you with the gentle lapping of the waves of the sea. Luring you beneath the surface, you are taken on a journey to the depths of the ocean, where the whales moan and the mermaids can be heard softly singing.

Bonus Track:
‘Mazarine’ (2018) is an electronic dance piece solely created out of manipulated sounds from a 6-string Balalaika. It is inspired by Goodwin Sands, a 10-mile stretch of sandbank in East Kent, eerily home to thousands of sunken ships, also known as Britain’s largest underwater graveyard.
Poem:
‘Mermaiden’: a poem I wrote with the same title that ultimately inspired me to compose this suite.
