The Demise of the Arts
“New creative people deserve their time in the sun, for their work to be seen and heard. For us to heed their perspective and recognise that they are no different to the ‘greats’ of the past, rather, we are simply witnessing them on their way up before they have reached their peak.”
Sleeping Beauty (Matthew Bourne): In Review
This has a different kind of drama, flamboyance and atmosphere that will keep you on the edge of your seat!
Come From Away: In Review
A musical by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, set in the Canadian town that took in the the passengers of planes that were rerouted on the day of the 9/11 attack.
Just about to close in London and I feel very fortunate to have seen it!
Mayerling: In Review
The ballet, Mayerling, originally premiered in 1978, now returns to the Royal Opera House stage in all its glory!
Raymonda: In Review
Although Raymonda was initially premiered in 1898, the ENB’s new version gently brings it into the modern world, without being too heavy handed. Everything has been so well-thought out and well-placed, it is hard to imagine that the story was ever any different, especially as the score fits so well with everything your see on stage.
