Poem: Our Magical World

‘Hand to the Stars’ by Pogany Willy

‘Kissing the Moon’ by Winslow Homer

Our world’s full of magic we no longer see.
Blinded by logic, reasoning, and rationality.
Trapped in our boxes filled with machines,
We believe what we’re told because it’s said through a screen.

Supposedly freer than ever before,
Yet how can we say we know freedom at all?
Our perception has dwindled,
Our belief, it condenses,
Placing all of our trust in our meagre five senses.

Talking to animals, communing with spirits,
Energy healers, metaphysical mystics,
Music, breathwork, meditation, vibration,
Holistic practices, and divination…

Cynics and nay-sayers will say it’s not true,
Charlatans infiltrate with the rot that they spew,
Only serving to misconstrue,
All of the knowledge we wish that we knew.

It is in our bones, it is in our blood.
It is in the soil, it is in the mud.
We could have everything and nothing at all,
For without a connection, we are nothing but fools.

The time to awaken has already begun,
With the rise of the moon and the set of the sun.
The voices are listening, one cannot deny,
There is more to this life than what meets the eye.
